The Medical Innovation Launch Lab (MILL) is a creative, collaborative space designed to accelerate the development and implementation of impactful medical technologies.
The MILL houses a variety of purpose-built spaces, each designed to support a different stage of the innovation process — from early ideation and prototyping through clinical testing, manufacturing, and startup operations:
- Shared and independent wet lab space
- Prototyping and product development resources
- Collaborative meeting and event spaces
- Dedicated office space
- Shared spaces with access to specialized equipment
The MILL serves as a hub for University of Iowa clinicians, faculty, researchers, graduate students, startup companies, Iowa Innovation Leadership Fellows, nurse innovators, and external collaborators. Designed to foster collaboration across disciplines, the space provides innovators with the resources, community, and support needed to transform ideas into real-world healthcare solutions.
The MILL is located on the third floor of the Iowa Biosciences Innovation Building, adjacent to the University of Iowa's medical campus.
