Biography

Studies: Fellow, Hematology/Oncology, Carver College of Medicine

Brooke Jennings is inspired by the opportunity to close the gap between scientific discovery and the care patients receive every day. A hematology-oncology fellow at the University of Iowa, she combines clinical practice with translational research to develop innovative approaches for treating melanoma and sarcoma. Her commitment to advancing cancer care is deeply personal, shaped by her family's experience with cancer and reinforced through years of laboratory research, clinical investigation, and leadership in clinical trials. These experiences have strengthened her belief that meaningful innovation begins with recognizing unmet patient needs and building collaborative solutions that improve outcomes. Through the Iowa Innovation Leadership Fellowship, Brooke hopes to expand her expertise in innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology development while connecting with leaders across healthcare and industry. She envisions a career as an academic oncologist and clinical trialist dedicated to translating research discoveries into more effective therapies and better futures for patients facing cancer.
