David Kaczka, Professor of Anesthesia, Radiology, and Biomedical Engineering, and Emmanuel Akor, a PhD student in biomedical engineering, received $30,000 to advance a low-cost mechanical ventilator for patients in low-resource settings suffering from respiratory distress.
