Biography

Austin Korns is the Associate Director of Economic Development for the University of Iowa Office of Innovation and Iowa Research Park. He focuses on outward-facing economic development opportunities for the Office of Innovation connecting faculty innovators with industry and driving business development at the Research Park. Before joining the Office of Innovation he was the Sr. Director of Economic Development for Greater Iowa City, Inc. leading their economic development initiatives around targeted business attraction, business retention and expansion, and real-estate development. Prior to moving to Iowa City he served as a major project manager for St. Louis Development Corporation handling various business development and industry cluster-focused work. Austin received his Bachelor of Social Work and Masters of Public Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and stayed in the St. Louis region to begin his career. Austin, his wife Mariah, and their son Macintyre enjoy cooking and eating good food, hiking with their dog, and working in their yard and garden.
